About the Milton Canoe and Camera Club
The Milton Canoe and Camera club has been serving members in the community of Milton and surrounding areas of Queens County, South Shore Nova Scotia since 1949. We encourage you to join our club and play a part in its continued growth.
We are a non-profit dedicated to the advancement and enjoyment of canoeing and photography. Our mission is to contribute to the quality of life of our community by creating a stimulating learning environment through the enjoyment and appreciation of the sport of canoeing and the art of photography. CANOE
Our paddling season offers a safe environment for members of all skill levels with a variety of educational instructions, demonstrations, and games aimed at building confidence and fostering personal growth through the sport of paddling. Our canoeing instruction and programs provide participants of all skill levels the chance to learn and build skills and competencies. We do this through a variety of canoeing disciplines including; flat water canoeing, marathon canoeing, canoe tripping and coastal paddling. We offer a variety of paddling options including our Learn to Paddle Program, Member Paddles (you can either use your own paddle craft, or opt to use our canoe along with our equipment), and the Canoe Share Program. All of these activities launch from our all-inclusive dock on the Mersey River.
CAMERA
If you are a camera hobbyist your membership also includes the camera club, which provides opportunities for photographers of all skill levels to reach their full creative potential by sharing photographic knowledge in a supportive and friendly environment through technical demonstrations, member presentations and forums. Program offerings include, photo challenges every three weeks, yearly print challenges, instructional sessions, photography talks, critique sessions, photo walks and guest photographers.

Members can participate in club-based events and shape the way the club is run by voting on changes or club decisions. As a member you have an opportunity to be a club executive. Looks great on a resume! Members also receive a 10% discount at Liverpool Adventures Outfitters.

Compilation Video
Our five minute compilation video is broken down in three parts. The first part of the video displays photos of our new clubhouse under construction (to see all under construction photos go here) in the summer and fall of 2018. It continues with photos of our Chair, David Lewis, navigating the club canoe float through the streets of Liverpool during the 2019 Privateer Days Parade. The video continues to roll along with images of our members participating in paddling and photographic events. The second part of the video is a compilation of several moving images during the first day of Canoe School in June 2019. The last part of the video creatively displays the photographic submissions from our members photo challenges taken throughout the year in 2019.
