Photography Program
Unless you’re managing a photography business and photographing for someone else, photography is about making photos that you are happy with. With that simple, but important concept at the forefront of our photography, we are first encouraged to get familiar with our cameras and the post processing tools. Armed with this knowledge we are enabled to make photos that we are truly satisfied with.
The Milton Canoe and Camera Club photography program provides opportunities for photographers of all skill levels to reach their full creative potential by sharing photographic knowledge in a supportive and friendly environment through technical demonstrations, member presentations and forums. Program offerings include, monthly photo challenges, yearly print challenges, instructional sessions, photography talks, critique sessions, photo walks and guest photographers.

The photography program runs year-round with meetups every third Thursday of each month. Members are provided with two photo challenges to complete within that time period. Our photo challenges are designed to improve our knowledge of photography by applying camera settings that we normally wouldn’t use. Some of our photo challenges will encourage members to maximize their knowledge of software based photo editing techniques. Like any art form, photography takes practise. Before you know it you will develop skills that will inspire creativity. Furthermore, as we discuss our photos, our meetups will provide opportunities to learn from others.
