This is a great way to get started and qualifies you to take part in the MCCC Equipment Loan Program. Details and registration are here. The camp was situated in Dunnellon, Florida for the month of March. Many Canadian and American marathon canoe paddlers attended. We paddled twice a day, roughly 2 1/2 hours per session. The waterways primarily paddled were the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers with excursions to the Silver River and Silver Lake areas. The waterways are much different than ours with Cypress trees along the banks, many birds, turtles and the occasional alligator. Paddlers use this camp as early training for races they plan to attend throughout North America. Dave and Louise hope to attend future camps.   Calling all adventurers!

We just kicked off our season of paddling with an unforgettable Canoe Try-it event. The event was hosted for the amazing students of DEVI International Boarding School at our very own clubhouse on the picturesque Mersey River. Led by our Certified Instructor, Dave Lewis (our Chair), the students got an exclusive chance to try canoeing for the very first time and they absolutely loved it!
The afternoon was filled with laughter, cheers and lots of learning as they paddled along the tranquil waters, taking in the stunning views around them. It was amazing to see so many young students joining us for a unique experience and discovering the joys of canoeing. Now, as the summer break quickly approaches, the students are eagerly planning one last canoeing excursion before they head back home. We can't wait to see the next group of students on the water on June 11th for another amazing adventure with us.
