Happy Halloween Everyone! If you didn’t get a chance to come down to the Mersey River Halloween Paddle at Centennial Park yesterday evening you missed a fun time. The successful event was put together by MCCC members Roanne Levy and Rigel Jones of the South Shore Nova Scotia Paddle Buddies. Enjoy the photos!
On Saturday Oct 2/21 four members of the Milton Canoe and Camera Club attended the Annual Fred Lynch Race event hosted on the Dartmouth lakes. This event commemorates the founding member of Canoe Nova Scotia, "Fred Lynch" and the efforts he made to the sport of canoe racing in this province. This year's event was well attended by sprint, marathon, SUP and recreational paddlers.
The route starts on Lake Banook, the paddlers go up to Lake MacMac and paddle/portage (400m) through Shubie Park, then all the way to the top of Lake Charles, before returning to the Finish Line on Lake Banook. Total 16km. Our teams, composed of Elise Johnstone-Agar and Abby Lewis placed 5th and Connor Agar and Dave Lewis placed 3rd, both in the Proboat Marathon Class. Definitely a good day on the water and a chance to catch up with old paddling buddies!! We want to thank all of you that dropped by our 2nd Annual Fine Art Photography Exhibit. On behalf of the club, we also want to thank Oshawa Ontario photographer Robert Bourke that took the time to professionally judge the fine art photographs that were presented in our exhibit. We appreciate his expertise and knowledge as it helps our members grow their photography skills.
